A cat food recall is meant to save cats from a risk of health problems that has been identified as a possible consequence of eating the cat food. Sometimes the cat food recall occurs before any cat has gotten ill, but the cat food recall may happen in response to the illness or death of cats that ate the cat food. For a cat food recall, retailers remove the cat food from the shelves and give refunds to people who purchased the cat food.
