    There is no doubt that cupcakes are enjoyed all over the world. From the cosmopolitan hubs of London, New York, and Los Angeles to the tropical metropolis of Manila, cupcakes make their way into the everyday indulgences of the world’s inhabitants. In this light, here are some great places to visit around the world for a sampling of that delicious, scrumptious, and oh-so luscious cupcake.

     

    1. Magnolia Bakery – 401 Bleecker Street, New York, NY

    A popular haunt for New Yorkers to get their sweet tooth fix ever since it opened its doors in 1996, the Magnolia Bakery totally cemented their status in cupcake history when they got featured as the cupcake hangout in the smash success HBO series, Sex and the City. Fans of the series flock from all over the globe to the store to nosh on some of their heroines’ favourite treats but what remains as the most popular cupcake for locals and tourists is Magnolia Bakery’s Vanilla Cupcake that is a vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream icing tinged pink.

     

    2. Peyton and Byrnes – Heals Building, 196 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7LQ

    Peyton and Byrnes is not the easiest shop to find but once you get there, the wonderful array of sweet treats that will greet you will surely be worth the trip! Known for having pretty and delicious cupcakes fancy enough to give away as presents, Peyton and Byrnes are a bit on the pricey side costing around .50p more than the usual price of a cupcake in London. But no matter how dear the price may be for these darling cupcakes, it sure isn’t enough to drive away the customers who enjoy them so much!

     

    3.  Sprinkles Cupcakes – 9635 Little Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA

    Dubbed as the world’s first cupcake bakery, Sprinkles has been inspiring cupcake aficionados the world over with its delectable creations since opening in 2005. Some of their best sellers are the red velvet cupcake and the dark chocolate cupcake that have gained fans both famous and not. Celebrities who have been seen munching on or carrying divinely sweet Sprinkles cupcakes are Courtney Love, Jeremy Piven, Bobby Flay, and Tyra Banks among others.

     

    4. Cupcakes by Sonja – Serendra Mall, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines

    On the other side of the globe where tropical paradises are everywhere, the cupcake craze is also very much evident. In the Philippines, a little shop named Cupcakes by Sonja has had people lining up just to have a taste of these mini delights. Having had a stint in New York’s famous Magnolia Bakery, owner Sonja Ocampo brought her love for cupcakes back home to the Philippines where it is now gaining quite a following. Must try’s in this quaint little shop are the Vanilla Sunshine cupcake, Melt-in-your-Mouth Flourless Chocolate cupcake, and the Bunny Huggers Carrot cupcake.
