The definition of wholesale is stated as the sale of large quantities of products for resale. Wholesaling is done in just about every type of industry but wholesale clothing has hit a huge market. Clothes are resold, most often at discount, and both the consumer and the seller are making deals. The acquisition of wholesale clothes can happen at many different places. These clothes can be bought directly from a manufacturer. Many companies overseas will do this. They produce an item of clothing in large quantities and then sell them to a buyer. This buyer will then resell the clothes.

Clothing to be sold as resale can be received from many different sources. The large majority of these items come from manufacturers overseas. The items in these factories are created in large quantities and then sold to the highest bidder. These manufacturers sell their items directly to resellers who then sell them to the public.

High end clothing stores and department stores are another source for resellers to find wholesale items. The majority of these stores purchase their store items many months before they are to be sold. If these items do not sell or they are not current with the current trends, these stores can not sell them and they look for other outlets to sell these items. This is where resellers come in. The resellers will buy these items and sell them for themselves.

There are many places where resellers can sell their newly acquired wholesale items. Many of these resellers have their own clothing stores where they are in need of inventory. They buy clothing from the wholesalers to sell in their own stores. These stores are set up as traditional clothing stores where their suppliers are wholesalers. The only difference between these stores and traditional stores are the prices. Wholesale shops are usually cheaper.

Websites all over the internet are created where wholesalers can sell their items or where people who buy from wholesale items can sell their items. These sites are usually set up and dedicated to one type of clothing such as dresses or jeans. When they are set up that way, they can kind of conquer that area of the market and keep customers coming back. On these sites, usually a description of the item is listed, the dimensions if applicable and how many of the item is available.

Another place that is huge for all types of wholesale items is online auctions like eBay. Both wholesalers and resellers take advantage of eBay. A wholesaler, if they can not or do no want any buyers, will turn to eBay to get their items sold. Here, they can quickly create an online auction and have a huge amount of traffic coming to the site daily.

Resellers also take advantage of eBay because this also gives them an outlet to sell their newly bought items. They can create a store and keep putting all of their different articles of clothing on the site. They can let people know how many they have and even offer deals for buying more than one item.

Both wholesalers and resellers are involved in the wholesale business. Wholesalers create and sometimes directly sell their items. The majority of wholesalers will sell their items to resellers. These resellers will then sell these items at many different outlets. Wholesale clothing is one of the largest categories in the wholesale industry and it does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
