Designing effective graphic designs for tradeshow booths shouldn't require a high-priced, fancy degree from an Ivy League school. In fact, it’s mainly just common sense. But that doesn’t mean that effective tradeshow booths are really all that common at tradeshows. From my experience, many exhibitors just don't use their heads when they create their tradeshow design. But by reading and learning from this article, and by following these simple points,  you can design a better, attention-getting, compelling, and effective tradeshow booth that will entice potential prospects into your booth, where you can then convert them into customers (which is what tradeshow marketing is all about). All you've got to do is focus on these simple three things to insure your design does the job.

First, your tradeshow booth has catch people's attention when they are passing by your booth space. Realize that your booth is like one fish in a huge school of fish. You've got to differentiate your booth from all the other booths at the show. You don't want people to just walk by your booth. Combining a full-color background image with a memorable tagline is one simple way to accomplish "getting noticed".

Second, you've got to communicate who you are and what you do. Use big letters for your company name and put it at the top. Your design must also state in plain language what it is that you do. If people can't look at your display and immediately know who you are and what you do, you need to start your design over.

Third, you need to explain to people "what's in it for them." Your design must address this question to be effective. Prospects legitimately care about themselves first, and want to know what you can do for them. As an example, if you a travel company, you might say how many different locations you service. How you can help or benefit a customer is a critical part of any effective design.

In the end, it comes down to this. Designing super effective tradeshow booths means creating a design that does the three things above. Your design must stand out from the crowd and get noticed. Your design must say who you are and what you do. And lastly, your design must say how you can help people. Create your tradeshow booth design with these three criteria in mind and see your tradeshow booth be one of the busiest at the show! Make your next tradeshow your most successful tradeshow yet!
